A LIFE-LONG WYOMING COUNTY RESIDENT WITH EXECDING QUALIFICATIONS
Louis is a Pennsylvania Certified Coroner who attended a six day Pennsylvania State Coroner’s Education Course in Harrisburg. A requirement of all Pennsylvania Coroners.
Louis Marcho, D-ABMDI, is the first and only in the county to hold a certificate from the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators. Medicolegal investigators conduct forensic death investigations and serve as the eyes and ears of forensic pathologists. Obtaining the designation of “diplomat” of ABMDI assures that the death investigator is proficient in all areas of death investigation. It is also a national certification.
Before being allowed to sit for the examination, an individual must currently be employed in a Medical Examiner, Coroner office, or equivalent federal authority with the job responsibility to "conduct death scene investigations" or supervise such investigations at time of application and examination.
*There are currently only 123 certified death investigators in Pennsylvania.*
Born and raised in Lake Winola, Louis is a 2014 graduate of Tunkhannock School District. Growing up you would often see him at his Grandparents restaurant The Mill City Dairy Bar. He furthered his education with a degree in Mortuary Science from Northampton College in Bethlehem, PA. He is currently employed as a licensed funeral director at Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. in Tunkhannock and as a deputy coroner for Wyoming County.
